For over 22 years, Megan has been working as a pet professional, perfecting her craft and gaining a loyal following that continues to grow today. She started showing Newfoundlands in conformation when she was 11 years old and participated in water rescue training with them. Her first job was at Yankee Clipper Pet Grooming where she trained under two of the best groomers in the industry, Owner Liz Czak and Master Pet Stylist Daryl Conner. She obtained a bachelor’s in science from the University of Maine Orono in 2009 and in 2010 moved to England, where she established her own mobile grooming business. In 2015, Megan returned to the states and resumed work as Manager at Yankee Clipper. In 2021, she purchased the building that formerly housed Appleton Ridge Pet Care. Since then, she has expanded her team and continued educating her staff with trips to Hershey, Pennsylvania for multiple grooming seminars and certificate programs, as well as certifying all her employees with CPR and emergency pet care. With her amazingly talented team of professionals behind her, Megan hopes to continue providing exceptional care to owners and their pets in the Midcoast area and beyond for many years to come!

Samantha joined our team in June of 2022. She also lives in Washington and has two cats. Her dog passed away in late 2020, and she’s wanted a way to feel closer to dogs, so she joined our team. She loves working at Home Away, as it has taught her so much. Having graduated at an early age, she’s been grateful for this job, saying that it keeps her grounded and busy. She agrees with all of us that this team feels like family.

Laura joined our team in June of 2022. She lives in Jefferson with her two kids, a dog, 2 cats, a bearded dragon, and a Russian tortoise. She and her kids share a special love for dogs. Laura joined our team in hopes to provide special, loving care to all the dogs (not to mention to get her dog fix!).

Erin hails from Washington and joined at opening in April 2021. She works hard to make room for every pet in the schedule! Erin is our resident cat lover – every kitty who visits is a tiny sunbeam in her day!
